Repairs

Unfortunately, some cemeteries experience damage due to vandalism. In most cases, we can restore the headstone and return it to its original condition.

Rebuilding

We provide a complete rebuilding service for memorials that have deteriorated over time. Damage to concrete and plaster can result from age, weather, or earlier poor workmanship. We can remove the memorial, transport it to our workshop, and rebuild the base and finish—either to match the original or with a simpler updated style. We also regularly fill in grave spaces within kerbed areas when no further burials are planned.

Additional Inscriptions

Headstones and plaques often have space reserved for a partner or spouse. When the time comes, we can add the new inscription. This is usually done on site, though in some cases the memorial may need to be brought back to our workshop.

As part of this process, we also clean and repaint the existing lettering to ensure a consistent finish.

Cleaning & Repaints

To simply keep headstones looking well presented and tidy we offer a repainting and cleaning service which brings the lettering back to new. We start by cleaning the headstone and base to remove lichen and dirt that has built up, then we remove of any remaining paint from lettering, and finally we repaint or gild the memorial. This is done onsite, and is weather dependant.

We can also clean the concrete and plaster bases with gentle water cleaning and spraying with slow release cleaners. This can also be done to historic grave sites in accordance with council guidelines for looking after headstones in historic cemeteries.
