Meet Nathan – our Stonemason
Nathan first started working with memorials at age 14, spending weekends and holidays learning the craft. He began his apprenticeship at 16, focusing on traditional methods like hand chiselling and lead lettering. He is now one of just two stonemasons in the Waikato region with this skill.
At 19, Nathan launched Creative Stone in Hamilton, later expanding his skills to include sandblasting and stained glass. He moved to Taupō in 2014 and took over Taupō Monumental in 2015. Today, he runs both Taupō Monumental and Stoneworx – Memorials of Distinction.
